1. Scope

This Policy applies to personal information we process about Buyers who purchase tickets, Organizers who create Events, Attendees named on tickets, and visitors to our websites. It does not apply to the separate privacy practices of Organizers or of third-party services such as Stripe, which handle personal information under their own policies. When you buy a ticket, the Organizer of that Event is a separate controller of the information you provide for their Event and uses it under their own privacy practices.

2. Categories of Personal Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the Services, we collect the following categories of personal information:

CategoryExamples
Buyer identifiers & contact information Buyer name, email address, and phone number provided at checkout.
Organizer account information Organizer name, business/organization name, account email, contact details, and login credentials.
Attendee information Attendee names, and any similar details, when an Organizer’s Event requires them. A Buyer may submit the names of other people (third parties) they are buying tickets for.
Transaction & ticket information Records of tickets purchased, order totals, ticket types, event associations, and check-in/scan status. Full payment-card numbers are handled by Stripe; we do not store complete card numbers.
Technical & usage information IP address, device and browser type, approximate location derived from IP, pages viewed, and similar analytics data collected automatically.

We do not intentionally collect government identification numbers, precise geolocation, biometric data, or the contents of your communications beyond what you send us.

3. Sources of Personal Information

We collect personal information: (a) directly from you, such as when you create an account, list an Event, or buy a ticket; (b) automatically, through cookies and similar technologies when you use our websites; (c) from Organizers, when a Buyer’s or Attendee’s information is provided in connection with an Event; and (d) from our service providers, such as Stripe, which provides transaction and payment-status information (not full card numbers).

4. Business & Commercial Purposes

We process each category of personal information for the following business and commercial purposes:

CategoryPurposes
Buyer identifiers & contact information Process ticket purchases; deliver tickets and order confirmations; send transactional messages about the Event; provide support; and detect and prevent fraud.
Organizer account information Create and administer accounts; enable Event creation and payouts; communicate about the Services; and secure the Platform.
Attendee information Associate tickets with named Attendees; enable gate check-in; and fulfill the Organizer’s Event requirements.
Transaction & ticket information Complete and record sales; support refunds and chargebacks; and meet accounting and legal obligations.
Technical & usage information Operate, secure, and improve the Platform; diagnose problems; and understand usage through analytics.

5. How We Use Personal Information

In addition to the purposes above, we use personal information to: operate and maintain the Services; process and facilitate payments; communicate service-related and transactional messages; provide customer support; personalize and improve the Services; ensure security and prevent fraud and abuse; and comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service. We use technical and usage data primarily in aggregated or de-identified form for analytics.

6. Disclosure to Service Providers

We share personal information with service providers who process it on our behalf and only for the purposes we specify. These include:

We may also disclose personal information to Organizers as necessary to fulfill their Events, and to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We require our service providers to protect personal information and to use it only as directed.

7. Sale & Sharing of Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we have not sold personal information in the preceding twelve months, as “sell” is defined under California law.

We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising (sometimes called “sharing” under California law). We have not shared personal information for that purpose in the preceding twelve months. If this ever changes, we will update this Policy and provide any required opt-out mechanism before doing so.

8. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

Because we do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, no opt-out is necessary to stop those activities — they do not occur. Nevertheless, we honor opt-out preference signals: where your browser or a browser extension transmits a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information associated with that browser. You may also contact us at privacy@eventbone.com with any question about opt-out rights.

9. Sensitive Personal Information

We do not collect or process “sensitive personal information” as defined under California law (such as government identifiers, precise geolocation, racial or ethnic origin, health, or biometric data) for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you. Because we do not use sensitive personal information for such purposes, the right to limit its use does not currently apply; if our practices change, we will update this Policy and offer a “Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information” option.

10. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law. In general:

When personal information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it. Our specific retention periods are set according to the volume, nature, and sensitivity of the data, the potential risk of harm, and applicable legal requirements.

11. Your California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights, subject to certain exceptions:

12. How to Exercise Your Rights

You may submit a privacy request using either of the following methods:

Verification. To protect your information, we will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before fulfilling a request — typically by asking you to confirm information we already have on file, such as the email address associated with your account or purchase. We will only use information provided in a request to verify identity and respond to it.

Timing. We will acknowledge your request within ten (10) business days and respond within forty-five (45) days. If we need more time, we may extend our response by an additional forty-five (45) days and will notify you of the extension and the reason.

Authorized agents. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may require the agent to provide proof of authorization and may ask you to verify your identity directly with us.

13. Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) setting. There is no industry-standard for how to interpret DNT signals, and we do not currently respond to browser DNT signals. However, as described in Section 8, we honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) as a valid opt-out preference signal for any sale or sharing of personal information. This disclosure is provided in accordance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA).

14. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate our websites, remember your preferences, keep you signed in, secure the Platform, and understand usage through analytics. Some cookies are strictly necessary for the Services to function; others help us measure and improve performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling certain cookies may affect functionality.

15. Data Security

We maintain administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. Payment-card data is handled by Stripe under its PCI-compliant environment; we do not store complete card numbers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

16. Children’s Data

The Services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. Consistent with the federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us at privacy@eventbone.com and we will take steps to delete it. Where an Event involves minors, the Organizer is responsible for obtaining any consents required from a parent or guardian.

17. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
